MEET THE CAST
Jenn Maley (Max)
Jenn (JJ) Maley (they/them) is a Tony-Nominated producer, director, actor, writer, and consultant. Their performing credits include Pete (The Sperm Play, Hudson Guild Theater), The Witch (Into the Woods, Production Workshop), Ilse (Spring Awakening, Wilmette Theatre), Carter (Bull, Production Workshop), Lucy (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Wilmette Theatre), Jackie (Barbies, Columbia MFA Program), and C (Three Tall Women, Production Workshop). Jenn is in The Academy for improv and Advanced Study Sketch at UCB. They perform with We Will Slay and Slow Fuse at UCB Hell’s Kitchen. Jenn made their Broadway debut as a producer on Indecent (Tony Nomination) by Paula Vogel. They recently produced Be More Chill (Broadway) and What the Constitution Means to Me (Broadway and Tour, TonyNomination). Jenn is also a producer on Reunion which played at the Byron Theatre and will play this spring at the ZACH Theatre. As a director, Jenn has developed many new works in New York such as Wonder Boy (Musical Theatre Factory), Handstand (Honey Dipped Productions), The Trombone Lesson (Winner of Manhattan Repertory Theater’s Play Contest), Goldilocks: The Drag Musical, and Luna Fest. Jenn assistant directed Tyne Rafaeli on Usual Girls at Roundabout Theatre Company and Power Strip at Lincoln Center Theatre. Currently, Jenn is also gender consultant on an upcoming Amazon show. Lilli Komurek (Joss)
Lilli (she/her) is an award-winning musical theater actress, director, and a homeschooling mama. A central New York native, she grew up dancing and singing to Broadway cast albums in her bedroom mirror. As a proud member of Actor’s Equity EMC program, Lilli has performed regionally at Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival / Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, Syracuse Stage, Cortland Repertory Theater, and Redhouse Arts Center. Her favorite performances include Big Fish (Sandra Bloom), Into the Woods (Baker’s Wife), Guys and Dolls (Adelaide), Falsettos (Trina), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), She Loves Me (Amalia), Songs for a New World, and Almost, Maine. Melissa Winter (Maddy)
Melissa Winter (she/her) is an actor, singer, and performer hailing from Orange County, CA. Stepping onto a stage at 10 years old, she performed in plays and musicals as often as she could. Some credits include: Theatre: Swing! A New Musical (Janine, Off-Broadway), Raspberries (Katie/The Voice, NY Summerfest), A Magic School Bus Musical Parody (Ms. Frizzle, Hollywood Fringe Festival), Barefoot in the Park (Corie Bratter), Matt & Ben (Matt Damon), Legally Blonde the Musical (Ensemble). Melissa graduated from CSU Long Beach with a degree in Children and Family Development, and a minor in music. Before moving to NY, she worked alongside music therapists and child life specialists leading sessions to help development for adults with IDD and children who had been hospitalized. Zachary Jones (Van)
Zachary Jones (he/him) is a Junior Musical Theatre BFA student, studying at Nazareth College of Rochster under department direction of Corinne Aquilina. Recently Zach played the roles of Ernst in Spring Awakening directed by Brett Smock, Paul Arnold in Bells Are Ringing directed by Robin Levine, and Bud in Bonnie and Clyde directed by Aaron Galligan-Stierle. This September he will play the role of Sky Masterson in Nazareth College’s staged concert production of Guys and Dolls under the direction of Bob Cline in addition to producing his original short film, Earl Grey and Green with Rochester Institute of Technology. Zach is thrilled to have the opportunity to portray Van in Michelle Lee’s Love Is Love Is Love.
Josh Mele (Travis)
Josh (he/him) is an award winning theater performer, and veteran of numerous productions in the Central New York area. Some favorite roles include Jean ValJean in Les Misérables, Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar and Billy Bigelow in Carousel as well as Syracuse Area Live Theater (SALT) award winning performances as The Leading Player in Pippin, John Wilkes Booth in Assassins, Amos in Chicago, and the title role in Sweeney Todd. When not on stage, Josh works as a Chemist at Hanford Pharmaceuticals in East Syracuse, NY, and splits his free time pretty evenly between desperately trying to keep up with the two most amazing little boys he could imagine, and sleeping to recover. Josh would like to thank his Mom and Dad, and his boys: Calvin and Jack for all of their love and support!
Sophie Sagan-Gutherz (Anna)
Sophie (they/them) is a NYC based actor, singer and writer. Originally from Massachusetts, they began acting at 10 years old when they played Captain Von Trapp. As an actor, they’ve been part of many developmental projects onstage at The Public, Ars Nova, Rattlestick, the Williamstown Theatre Festival & others. As a writer, they are a PlaySpace Pipeline Theatre Company semi-finalist, their work has been produced by the Tribe Theatre Company and Am I Write Ladies?, and their poetry has been published by the Sante Fe Literary Review. They’ve trained with the Fiasco Theatre Company, were part of the 2019 Williamstown Non-Equity Company and are a proud member of Ring of Keys: a collective of queer women, non-binary, and trans people in musical theater. Sam Martin (Jay)
Sam Martin (he/him) is very excited to be a part of this project! He is currently studying Musical Theater at The Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University where he’ll be receiving his BFA in May. Recent notable credits include Anything Goes (Metropolis Performing Arts Center), Jack in Defacing Michael Jackson (Flying Elephant Productions), Orin Scrivello DDS in Little Shop of Horrors (Point2Point Productions) and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum (Citadel Theater). Sam also composes his own music which he debuted in February with his album ‘Sunday Night’ on Spotify. All his love to his family and wonderful mother who helped him fly out to New York to work on this project.
Nina Andjelic (Thea)
Nina Andjelic (she/her) is a Serbian-American actor who just graduated with her BFA in drama from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She most recently could be seen as Lady Anne in “Richard III” (The Classical Studio), Maria in “Twelfth Night” (The Classical Studio) and Sylvestre in “Scapin” (The Season @ Villa La Pietra). She would like to thank her parents, fiancée, and friends for their boundless love and support.
Derek Emerson Powell (Alex)
Derek (he/him) is simply charmed to be playing Alex in Love is Love is Love, The Musical. Favorite credits include: Winston Smith in "1984". Orpheus in "Eurydice", CC Showers in "The Diviners", Steve/Chad/Dave in "Almost, Maine". Minstrel in "Once Upon a Mattress", Jervis in "Daddy Long Legs", and Bosie in the original cast of "The Picture of Oscar Wilde". Kilian Crowley (Ellis)
Originally from Syracuse, NY, Kilian (he/him) graduated from Le Moyne College in 2016 with a BS in Biology. While at Le Moyne, Kilian discovered his love for being on stage and decided now was the best time to pursue his dream. Kilian currently works for the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse as a Youth Tour actor, utilizing his skills as a teaching artist and performer to educate and entertain in over 90 different school districts at schools all across NYS. His recent credits and favorite roles include Dickon (Secret Garden), Ram Sweeney (HEATHERS: The Musical), El Gallo (The Fantasticks), Chip Tolentino (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee)
Olivia Moffa (Tess)
Olivia (she/her) is overjoyed to be a part of this beautiful project. She is a current BFA Musical Theatre student at Nazareth College (Program Director Corinne Aquilina). Recent credits include a staged concert production of Guys and Dolls at Nazareth College (Dir. Bob Cline) as well as Guys and Dolls with Manlius Recreational Theatre (Adelaide). Other credits: Girls Like That, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Pygmalion, She Kills Monsters, and Legally Blonde. Olivia is also a Performing Arts Abroad alum, and has trained in London’s West End. “Behind the table,” she was Assistant Director of 2019’s One-Act Play Festival at Nazareth, and is a Producer of “Simple Stage,” an on-campus group producing staged readings of both student and published works. She would like to thank those who share their magic to fight for the continued acceptance and visibility of others.
Lisa Romano (Edith)
Born and raised in Syracuse, singer/songwriter/musician, Lisa Romano (she/her) is a classically trained vocalist who lives and breathes to sing. Syracuse Area Music Award nominee for her original album Revealed and NYC trained performer, Lisa has been involved in musical theater and the original music scene for all her adult life. Performed in countless musical theater productions for The Talent Co., her love for theater began in High School and carried over into college where she studied at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. She perfected her craft and traveled across the country performing in children’s theater in the late 1990s. Upon returning home she joined the original music scene performing solo and with countless local musicians and bands. A perfectionist and comedian at heart she takes the stage with poise and grace and has a ton of fun giving it her all every time. Music is her passion; her instrument is her voice.
Michelle Lee (she/her) is a singer/songwriter from New York. Her first musical was a collaboration with Ed Sayles, former Producing Director of Merry Go Round Theater in Auburn, NY; where she wrote the music and lyrics for ‘Helen of Troy, A Musical’. She released her debut album in 2017, and her TEDx submission in 2018 inspired ‘Love is Love is Love – The Musical’. She attended Boston University and lives in Syracuse, NY with her two sons, ages 13 and 10. Her new album, Amsterdam, will be released in 2020.
Allison Chaney Whitmore
Born and raised in the wilds of Los Angeles, Allison Chaney Whitmore (she/her) is a screenwriter, novelist, and playwright who delights in telling rich stories with dynamic female leads. Allison holds a BA in English and writing, an MA in English education, and spent her childhood obsessed with Broadway and Hollywood musicals. Though Allison considers herself a fantasy/sci-fi writer, she's always been a sucker for solid romantic stories and was excited when asked to help bring Love Is Love Is Love – The Musical to life. Her credits include her novels, Forget Me Not and The Lost Heir, a stage adaptation of Little Women, and a young adult fantasy graphic novel series, Love University about a young Cupid who falls for two boys she just can't figure out. She is currently adapting the first book of a popular young adult fantasy series into a feature film.
